TOPIC: IT IS IN YOUR SPIRIT

KEY SCRIPTURE: 2 PETER 1:2-4 EASY

"Instead, you should want to learn about God more and more. New babies always want their mothers' milk, which makes them grow strong. God's true message is like good food that will make you strong in your spirits . Learn more about God every day, so that you continue to grow as believers . Then at the end, God will save you completely from the bad things of this world. Already, you have begun to know how good the Lord is to you. If you really know that, you should want to know him more and more.  So come to the Lord Jesus. He is like a big stone that a builder uses to build a house. But he is alive. People decided that he was not important. So they refused him. But God had chosen him. To God, Jesus is very valuable."

COMMENTARY:

Even though you are born again, are you struggling with depression, discouragement, or other problems? You have asked the Lord into your heart and you know you are saved, but you have not seen yourself dead to sin, dead to sickness, and dead to poverty. You still see yourself as a sinner, sick, or poor.

I have changed. I know now that I am not the sinner trying to become holy. I am the righteous whom Satan is trying to make unholy. I am not the sick trying to get healed. I am the healthy that the devil is trying to make sick. I am not the poor trying to be prosperous. I am the prosperous that the enemy is trying to make poor. This is a totally different attitude and mindset. But I have found it much easier to fight from the position of victory than to try to fight to obtain a position of victory. It is infinitely easier to release something I already have than to go get something I do not.

There is doubt in the mindset that says, "I do not yet have it so I am going to try to get it." You are starting from a position of defeat when you say, "I am sick right now, but I am going to seek God and get healed." No, the truth is: "In Jesus, I am already healed. In my born-again spirit, I am already well. I have the same power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead living inside me (Rom. 8:11). I am dead to sickness and disease. I am healed. It is in my spirit." Do I deny that my flesh sometimes has sickness and other things come against it? No, I am not denying that those things exist. Sometimes my body hurts, but I am denying its right and ability to dominate me.

I know that in my spirit I am dead to those things. I am risen with Christ. In the same way that He is far above all sickness, disease, poverty, and depression, so is my born-again spirit.

I am in the process of renewing my mind so I can think like Christ. I arm myself with this same mind (1 Pet. 4:1); I let this mind be in me, which was in Christ Jesus(Phil. 2:5). I reckon myself to be dead to sin, but alive to God through Christ Jesus my Lord (Rom. 6:11). I am fighting from a position of victory, not trying to get to one. My born-again spirit is as changed as it will ever be throughout eternity. The rest of the Christian life is just renewing my mind to what is already a reality in my spirit.

Sin's dominion over you has been broken. You are now dead to sin and alive to God. As you renew your mind to this truth, you will start experiencing it in your everyday life.

PRAYER POINT:

Thank You Father for my recreated spirit. I receive the grace to renew my mind to the mind of Christ, so I can effectively access, utilize and manifest all the wondrous things God has deposited in my spirit, in Jesus' name! Amen.
