Failure is Your Portion, Imo PDP Mocks Gov. Uzodinma as Court Discharges Detained INEC Officials
- Says Uzodinma-Backed Ebubeagu Militia, New Threat To 2023 Elections
- Calls On IGP to Quickly Disband Ebubeagu
- Urges Imo People to Remain Vigilant
The People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Imo State is elated that after weeks of unlawful arrest and detention, the Magistrate Court 6 in Owerri has today, Wednesday November 16, struck out the frivolous, baseless and incompetent suit filed by the regime of Senator Hope Uzodinma against some INEC officials, particularly Chidiebere Eze and Felix Agu, and set them free.
The failed regime of Uzodinma had accused the INEC staff of informing Nigerians about the criminal importation of fake and alien names, numbering over forty thousand, into the voters' register in Omuma Ward, which is Senator Uzodinma's community. This is what Nigerians now know as the Omuma Magic!
Our Party, therefore, describes this crushing defeat of Senator Uzodinma as a sign of things to come, and says that so far as God is on the throne, all the wicked plans of Senator Uzodinma to undermine democracy and enslave Imo people will continue to fall like a pack of cards.
Our Party further alerts Imo people of the fresh plot by the unpopular APC regime in the State to intimidate voters during the 2023 elections, hijack election officials and materials and alter electoral outcomes using the state-backed militia, known as Ebubeagu. The Ngor-Okpala state constituency by-election earlier this year, which was violently and massively rigged provided the ground for the APC in Imo to experiment this electoral heist, which they now plan to pepertrate on a larger scale next year.
Lately, the activities of the bloodthirsty Uzodinma-Ebubeagu have gone unchecked. The gruesome extrajudicial murder of fourteen Otulu youths at Awo-Omamma remains a case which challenges the moral strength of this unproductive administration to continue to remain in office and also interrogates the role which Ebubeagu has been designated to play for the outgoing anti-people regime of Uzodinma in the State.
Imo PDP calls on the Inspector General of Police to quickly step into this matter and disband Ebubeagu in the interest of peace and security, as well as safety and credibility of the 2023 elections in the State.
Our Party urges Imo people to remain resolute and vigilant, and enjoined them never rest in their oars in this quest to restore good governance to Imo State. One thing is certain: Senator Uzodinma has absolutely no legitimate way of remaining in power beyond January 2024. This is why he contrives all manner of absurdities and shenanigans to seek to destroy democracy. Imo people must continue to ensure that failure remains the portion of the wicked.
Signed:
Collins Opurozor
Publicity Secretary
Imo State PDP.
