 IMO STATE GOVERNMENT THROUGH THE MINISTRY OF YOUTH AND SPORTS TAKES HEARTLAND QUEENS FC THROUGH ON THEIR NWFL 2023 FIRST ROUND WHICH ENDS THIS WEDNESDAY 18TH JANUARY.

The commitment of the Imo State Government led by His Excellency Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma towards Sports development has remained so unwavering in all ramifications since the Shared Prosperity Administration came on board.

It is in this regard that the Honourable Commissioner for Sports, Youth and Social Development Hon. Emeka Okoronkwo has put all modalities in place which has contributed immensely towards ensuring that Heartland Queens football Club of Owerri pulls through in the first round of the 2023 Nigerian Women Football League (NWFL) which ends this Wednesdays 18th January, 2023.

It is noteworthy to state that the State Government has done very well for the Team both at the qualification stage which the Girls finished on a flying note which made it possible for the team to make a return to the top-flight league after a very long while to the take off, of the NWFL season.

Following the commencement of the Nigerian Women Football League season recently, the Shared Prosperity Government led by His Excellency Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma through the Ministry of Sports has equally gone ahead to provide all the logistics and encouragement needed by the Owerri Landladies to perform well in the first round of the top flight league which its curtain will be drawn later today after the Match day 7 fixtures of the league in which Heartland Queens FC in one of the matches will face Osun Babes at Dan Anyiam Stadium Owerri.

While the State Government through the Honourable Commissioner for Sports Hon. Emeka Okoronkwo has reassured of the unwavering commitment of the Government towards providing every support for the Owerri based female Team to excel, it's hoped that Heartland Queens FC will further reciprocate the efforts of the Government through excellent performance both in the final match of the first round and in the second round of the league season that will start on the 8th of February, 2023.
